Job Title: Senior Environmental Engineer

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of environmental planning and engineering tasks, including project management, coordination with government agencies, and review of environmental reports and plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects as a Project Manager or task leader
  • Conduct extensive research, data collection, analysis, and preparation of written technical documentation
  • Write and develop comprehensive planning documents and sustainability strategies
  • Work collaboratively with other Subject Matter Experts to complete/review comprehensive environmental documents and prepare environmental applications for permitting
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local officials, community groups, academia, private sector, and public stakeholders in developing and/or reviewing plans
  • Ability to plan and facilitate meetings, workshops, stakeholder outreach, public meetings, and open houses
  • Assign tasks to engineers, technicians, or administrative staff
  • Plan and coordinate aspects of work
  • Prepare and manage scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Assist with proposals to provide professional services
Requirements:
  • BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
  • 12+ years of experience
  • PE license strongly preferred
  • A masters in a related field may substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Reports to and supports the NE environmental team
  • Experience with MassDOT and MBTA procedures to achieve environmental compliance throughout all phases of a project
  • Meets project, client, and regulatory deadlines
  • Works in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and requirements related to environmental permitting
  • Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, subconsultants, and county/agency review staff
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Handles multiple public and private sector clients
