Continuous Improvement Equipment Assembler

The Continuous Improvement Equipment Assembler provides support for the organization-wide Continuous Improvement (CI) initiative. This includes helping train and coach employees on process improvement methodologies, facilitating events and studies, and auditing actual process performance.
Key Responsibilities- Work primarily in a Retail, Warehouse and Outlet setting, building and moving equipment needed for events, including possibly driving a company vehicle.
- Assist with lead, promote, and facilitate Kaizen events, with a focus on 5S, Root cause problem solving, cellular layout, and Standard Work.
- Learn and promote CI tools, to include value stream maps, production area sketches, checklists, audits, training and results of Kaizen/Six Sigma events and studies.
- Perform CI audit and help with maintaining CI and production standards within different production centers.
- Work closely with CI Team and the Learning and Development team to develop documentation and implementation standard work, training, other work aids.
- Emphasize the importance of standard work to gain efficiency in retail and other processing areas.
- Help develop and implement communication of CI schedule and outcome(s) of Kaizen events and studies.
- Assist in or develop Report-outs.
- Help research/verify production and financial performance reports to identify process improvement impact.
- Learn and apply problem solving framework and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.
- Conducting cycle time analyses, time studies, work balance improvements, workplace analysis and improvement.
- Creating and implementing standard work and teaching/coaching leaders to do the same.
- Obtaining required tools, work aids, to support workplace changes.
- Help implement, coach, and maintain visual performance tools, including MDI (Manage by Daily Improvement) boards.
- Following up on action plans.
- Assisting all teams as needed to ensure improvements are made and sustained.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Continuous improvement or LEAN experience preferred.
- Must be safety and quality driven.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills a must.
- Ability to help lead cross functional teams to implement cost-saving programs.
- Ability to present to small groups.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work with data and information.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Preferred Bilingual: Spanish/English.
- A valid Colorado driver's license without a history of violations is required; must also be able to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- This position requires frequent travel to all of Goodwill of Colorado's business units.
