Job Title: Plant Manager

Banker Steel Company LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to lead our East Coast fabrication plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall areas of safety, environmental, quality, productivity, delivery dates, employee relations/development, and driving the culture within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and enforce all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all employees have the necessary equipment and resources to perform their jobs safely and to customer and legal standards.
  • Develop and implement proactive safety initiatives and incentive programs to reduce hazards and waste.
  • Enforce the responsibility and accountability of the management team and supervisors to ensure all safety rules are followed and progressive disciplinary actions are taken for violations.
  • Ensure all injuries, near misses, and safety issues are reported, investigated, documented, and action steps completed in a timely manner.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency through effective scheduling, resource management, and employee development.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors to minimize indirect labor costs.
  • Ensure all capital expense upgrades and projects are properly engineered, planned, and completed on time and at or under budget.
  • Develop and maintain an effective purchase order and receiving system for supplies, parts, and materials.
  • Guarantee the facility is correctly staffed to meet schedules and delivery dates.
  • Maintain a proactive professional relationship with each supervisor and the workforce.
  • Ensure all employees are managed consistently and fairly and free from harassment and any form of discrimination.
  • Ensure an open and honest two-way communication system is maintained and all employees are kept regularly informed and updated on key issues.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the steel industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to work in various indoor conditions
