Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director in planning, directing, and coordinating the operation of the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.
  • Develop and manage financial aid information systems, including uploads and downloads of data to and from other computer systems.
  • Work with the Director to determine and implement policies, procedures, and philosophy of the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.
  • Administer need-based aid, including need analysis and packaging according to federal and institutional policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate student employment programs, including placement and management of student employees, monitoring of earnings, and fiscal accountability.
  • Process, verify, and validate information and documents for various federal, state, university, and outside agencies.
  • Assist in the development of financial aid information systems, including electronic file transfer and batch financial aid processes.
  • Coordinate the federal loan program, including entrance counseling, awarding, origination, disbursement, exit counseling, and reconciliation.
  • Disseminate information to students, parents, and the public regarding sources of financial aid.
  • Assist in office management, including supervision of student employees in the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.
  • Serve as a liaison with parents, students, campus academic and administrative offices in matters relating to student financial aid.
  • Assist in the coordination of deferments of tuition, fees, room, and board at the university.
  • Coordinate outreach programs, including financial aid nights in the resident halls, College Goal Sunday, and EAP programming.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years of professional financial aid experience or financial accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of financial aid management systems or accounting software.
  • Ability to interact well with students, faculty, and staff in a customer service environment.
  • Multi-lingual or bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary range is $69,669 – $92,356, and is commensurate upon candidates' experience. WCSU offers a comprehensive benefits package. Additional information on benefits can be found at www.wcsu.edu/hr/benefits/.
