Job Description:
The Senior Accounting Lead will oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, perform technical accounting research, and collaborate with external auditors. This role requires strong leadership skills, analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the preparation and review of the company's subsidiaries' standalone financial statements, adhering to US GAAP or IFRS.
  2. Collaborate with departments to identify technical accounting and financial reporting issues, assessing their implications.
  3. Research and conclude on various accounting matters in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
  4. Develop training materials on researching and concluding on technical accounting issues, including technical accounting memorandum preparation.
  5. Review legal documents to determine and track reporting requirements for new entities.
  6. Maintain support for financial statement disclosures and liaise with auditors in the successful completion of various audits and other engagements.
  7. Respond to various requests from investors and external sponsors.
  8. Assist in the documentation, updating, and creation of accounting/finance SOPs.
  9. Work on various special projects.

Requirements:
  1. BS degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  2. CPA preferred.
  3. 5+ years in public accounting, with heavy experience in preparing financial statements and researching technical accounting issues required.
  4. Previous experience with Yardi, MRI, Workiva (Wdesk), or other accounting systems a plus.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint; very strong Excel skills along with ability to learn new accounting systems.
  6. Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS and ability to research accounting literature including previous experience dealing with technical matters that include complex real estate transactions.
  7. Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  9. Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  10. Excellent interpersonal & communications skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate with external sponsors and investors.
  11. Ability to assimilate and summarize large quantities of data precisely and succinctly.
  12. Ability to prioritize, manage time well, meet critical deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  13. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.

Estimated Salary:
$80,000 - $110,000 per year.
