Senior Financial Services Manager for Student Aid

Old Dominion University seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Services Manager for Student Aid to lead the Student Accounts, Third Party Billing and Cashiering team. The selected candidate will develop and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
The Senior Financial Services Manager for Student Aid will manage the programs administered by the offices, develop and implement new initiatives, and ensure compliance with rules and regulations governing federal, state, and institutional student aid programs, as well as data privacy and collection practices. The position will work collaboratively with the Registrar and Financial Aid partner offices to develop strategies and lead efforts to improve the student customer service experience.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and a proven ability to manage large, multi-functional teams. They must possess strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities. The candidate should also have a thorough understanding of financial principles and internal controls and be able to apply those principles in an operational environment.
A strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential for this role. The selected candidate will be able to work effectively with campus partners and collaboratively as a team. The ideal candidate will have relevant professional experience (typically, eight or more years) in student accounts, financial aid, or accounting-related areas, as well as experience as a leader providing vision and clear communication of vision at varying levels of the university and division.
The estimated salary for this role is $93,000 - $120,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards. This position is required to file a Statement of Economic Interest upon hire.
