Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Program Manager to lead our Tuberculosis Surveillance team in Texas. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating daily operations, developing and implementing program goals, and fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Directs and evaluates the daily operations of the TB Epidemiology and Surveillance Group, establishing goals and objectives that align with unit priorities.
  • Develops and maintains standards of operation for the Group, creating team workflows to facilitate work performance and foster prompt response to Unit staff.
  • Maintains a competent TB workforce statewide, working with teams and other Unit staff to develop and/or maintain trainings, publications, and materials relevant to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serves as program lead in data application projects involving the Unit, serving as subject matter expert in discovery sessions with DSHS vendors, and DSHS information technology teams.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of public health laws, tuberculosis disease transmission, disease management, and prevention methods.
  • Ability to manage a public health program, plan, develop, and coordinate field operations, and establish goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, prioritize multiple work assignments, and develop presentations to diverse audiences.
  • SKILL IN EXCEL, ACCESS, Word, PowerPoint.
Salary:

$83,000 - $114,400 per year
