Position Title: Information Resource Specialist

Department: Office of Records and Regulatory Support

Overview: This role encompasses professional responsibilities in delivering reference services, overseeing library collections, and supporting records management initiatives, policies, and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide reference assistance; conduct thorough research; offer bibliographic guidance; process interlibrary loan requests; identify and secure materials to fulfill reference inquiries; disseminate technical reports as requested; deliver technical support to various divisions and bureaus; facilitate training sessions for navigating online databases.

· Curate and acquire materials for the library collection; source rare and out-of-print items; evaluate and maintain the collection; manage access to library resources, including digital formats. Assign accession numbers to new acquisitions; catalog and prepare new items for circulation; input data into the online catalog; update authority files; compile and distribute bibliographies of recent acquisitions.

· Collaborate with the Records Manager and/or Electronic Records Management Analyst to formulate and execute records management strategies, policies, and procedures. Aid in documenting workflows and data dictionaries, addressing staff inquiries and issues related to data management or electronic records. Contribute to the development and training of staff on data management and repository utilization; assist in creating standard operating procedures for data, information, and records lifecycle management across District work units.

· Digitize documents received and stored or related to projects; capture data and input it into the system; conduct quality assurance checks on documents and data processed by all team functions by comparing submitted data and images against captured data and images; provide feedback on data/image review for process enhancement; adhere to established quality assurance protocols for special projects.

· Propose goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to management; prepare reports on library-related topics as necessary; assist in annual budget planning; collaborate with volunteers or contract workers who support preliminary cataloging, circulation tasks, and clerical duties; conduct customer satisfaction assessments, analyze results, and implement necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in library and information sciences or a high school diploma/GED combined with four (4) years of professional library experience.

Work Environment:

Standard office setting involving extended periods of sitting, utilizing a library ladder, and organizing books and journals on shelves.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting Salary Range: $44,000 - $55,640.00, determined by qualifications and experience. Benefits include a hybrid work schedule, participation in the Florida Retirement System, health insurance, paid parental leave, dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, paid leave and holidays, professional development opportunities, wellness programs, and eligibility for public service student loan forgiveness.
