Overview: This role encompasses professional responsibilities in delivering reference services, overseeing library collections, and supporting records management initiatives, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver reference assistance; perform research; offer bibliographic guidance; manage interlibrary loan requests; source and acquire materials to fulfill reference inquiries; disseminate technical reports as requested; provide technical support to various divisions and bureaus; facilitate training sessions for online database navigation.
· Curate and acquire resources for the library collection; identify and secure rare or out-of-print items; manage collection maintenance; oversee access to library assets, including digital resources. Assign accession numbers to new acquisitions; catalog and process incoming materials for circulation; maintain online catalog data; update authority files; prepare and distribute bibliographies of new additions.
· Collaborate with the Records Manager and/or Electronic Records Management Analyst to formulate and execute records management strategies, policies, and procedures. Aid in documenting workflows and data dictionaries, addressing staff inquiries related to data management or electronic records. Contribute to staff training on data management and repository utilization; assist in developing standard operating procedures for data, information, and records lifecycle management.
· Digitize documents received and stored; capture data and input into systems; conduct quality assurance checks on documents and data processed by the team, ensuring accuracy; provide feedback for process enhancements; adhere to established quality assurance protocols for special projects.
· Propose objectives, policies, and procedures to supervisors; generate reports on library-related topics as necessary; assist in annual budget planning; coordinate with volunteers or contract workers for preliminary cataloging, circulation tasks, and administrative duties; conduct customer satisfaction assessments, analyze findings, and implement necessary adjustments.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in library and information sciences from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED accompanied by four (4) years of relevant professional library experience.
Work Environment:
Typical office setting involving extended periods of sitting, using a library ladder, and organizing books and journals on shelves.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting Salary Range: $44,000 - $55,640.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include a hybrid work schedule, participation in the Florida Retirement System, health insurance, paid parental leave, dental and life insurance, long-term disability, paid time off, holidays, professional development opportunities, wellness programs, and eligibility for public service student loan forgiveness.
