Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at Koch Industries. As a key member of our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.

• Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and purchasing policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Utilize our purchasing system to process purchase orders from requisitions.
• Ensure the contractual document accurately reflects the terms and conditions of purchase, including payment terms, freight terms, incoterms, and other key commercial terms.
• Issue requests for quotations (RFQ), analyze and evaluate quotes, negotiate price and terms, and exercise independent judgment to select suppliers based on lowest total cost of ownership.
• Knowledgeable of our strategic supply agreements and utilize these to maximize value.
• Collaborate with internal requestors to understand requirements (e.g., specifications, scopes of work, performance, and timing requirements).
• Demonstrate a high level of customer focus and sense of urgency.
• Use strong verbal and written communication skills to solve problems and provide status updates to customers and suppliers (e.g., commitment dates).
• Analyze root causes of accounts payable exceptions and take steps to resolve and prevent.
• Initiate changes to improve the effectiveness of the purchasing process.
• Manage own time to accomplish goals and prioritize a variety of tasks.
• Responsible for administration of contractor management tools, including Ariba, ISNET, and SAP/S4.
• Facilitate competitive bid events through Ariba and analyze vendor's bids to ensure compliance to requirements.

• Bachelor's degree combined with at least 1 year of procurement experience, OR 3+ years of experience in procurement or a similar field (e.g., project management, warehousing, accounting, supply chain).
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (spreadsheets), Outlook (email and calendar), and SharePoint.

• Buying experience.
• Experience with Excel functionality and logic formulas.
• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Knowledge of purchasing process and procedures and key commercial terms such as freight payables, incoterms, delivery terms, and invoice reconciliations.
• Experience in negotiating contracts at a local, regional, or national level.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
