This position requires technical guidance from team leads and/or supervisors, who may be more senior technicians. The Aircraft Technician II utilizes a range of tools, including hand tools, power tools, machines, and ancillary equipment, to perform assigned tasks. Additionally, they read and interpret service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning systems and/or ancillary equipment. The Aircraft Technician II must adhere to specific requirements for Ordnance maintenance as outlined in CNAFINST 4790 and maintenance instructions. Furthermore, they are responsible for cleaning aircraft parts and assemblies using solvents or other cleaning solutions. Other job-related duties may be assigned based on skillsets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough inspections and diagnose issues with aircraft systems, including structure, gear, controls, power, and electrical and/or electronic systems and components.
- Execute repairs and maintenance on assigned systems, utilizing technical guidance from team leads and/or supervisors as needed.
- Utilize a range of tools, including hand tools, power tools, machines, and ancillary equipment, to perform assigned tasks.
- Read and interpret service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning systems and/or ancillary equipment.
- Adhere to specific requirements for Ordnance maintenance as outlined in CNAFINST 4790 and maintenance instructions.
- Clean aircraft parts and assemblies using solvents or other cleaning solutions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned based on skillsets.
Requirements:
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience with aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts for the assigned position.
- Requires Two (2) years of NAVAIR/NAWCAD maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance.
- Demonstrated experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records, and specific experience with the aircraft type to be supported.
- Experience with leading maintenance teams, prioritizing workload and schedules on assigned projects.
- Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Top Secret Security Clearance Required. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Top Secret Security Clearance.
Security Clearance:
- Position requires the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance and maintain a favorable Tier 5 background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- S-92, VH-92A, VH-3D, and VH-60N experience preferred.
