Aircraft Technician

**Aircraft Technician** at Amentum performs critical tasks in aircraft maintenance, including inspection, diagnosis, repair, and monitoring of systems, structure, gear, controls, power, and electrical and/or electronic systems and components. This role requires technical guidance from team leads and/or supervisors, which may be more senior technicians. The Aircraft Technician uses hand tools, power tools, machines, and ancillary equipment required to perform assigned tasks. Reading and interpreting service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications are essential to determine the feasibility and method of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning systems and/or ancillary equipment. The Aircraft Technician must follow specific requirements for Ordnance maintenance IAW CNAFINST 4790 and maintenance instructions. Cleaning aircraft parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the Aircraft Technician performs other job-related duties as may be assigned based on skillsets.
**Requirements:**
Minimum of three (3) years experience with aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of parts for the assigned position.
Demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance.
Demonstrated experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records, and specific experience with the aircraft type to be supported.
Mechanical support positions require a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and/or structural modifications and repair, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers. Electrical and avionics positions must have basic knowledge of electrical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, indicators, and meters.
Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED required.
Top Secret Security Clearance Required. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Top Secret Security Clearance.
**Security Clearance:**
Position requires the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance and maintain a favorable Tier 5 background investigation.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
S-92, VH-92A, VH-3D, and VH-60N experience preferred.
