Aircraft Maintenance Specialist

Aircraft Maintenance Specialist performs critical tasks to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft systems, including inspection, diagnosis, repair, and monitoring of structure, gear, controls, power, and electrical and/or electronic systems and components. This role requires technical guidance from team leads and/or supervisors, which may be more senior technicians. The specialist uses hand tools, power tools, machines, and ancillary equipment required to perform assigned tasks. They read and interpret service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning systems and/or ancillary equipment. Additionally, the specialist follows specific requirements for Ordnance maintenance in accordance with CNAFINST 4790 and maintenance instructions. They also clean aircraft parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions. This role requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience with aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of parts for the assigned position. The specialist must have demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance, experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records, and specific experience with the aircraft type to be supported. They must also have a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and/or structural modifications and repair, as well as thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers. Electrical and avionics positions require basic knowledge of electrical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, indicators, and meters. The specialist must also have a High School Diploma or GED and a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, repair, and monitoring of aircraft systems

Requirements:
