Job Overview

The Field Operations Consultant is responsible for conducting objective evaluations of restaurant standards, including Operations Excellence Assessments, Food Safety visits, and National Restaurant Building and Equipment Standards assessments. This role involves analyzing restaurant performance concerning customer experience and operational brand standards. Additionally, the position focuses on developing a comprehensive skill set in restaurant operations through continuous assessment, training, and development.

  • Conducts thorough evaluations (e.g., Running Great Restaurants Visits, Food Safety Visits, Operations Excellence Assessments, Health & Safety Visits, and National Restaurant Building and Equipment Standards) to assess restaurant performance against customer experience and McDonald's operational standards.
  • Safeguards the McDonald's brand by identifying potential issues that could impact customer experience and brand perception.
  • Enhances operational excellence by pinpointing restaurants that fall short of McDonald's Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) and safety standards.
  • Fosters a well-rounded skill set in restaurant operations through ongoing training, learning, and certification in designated areas of expertise.
  • Develops deep expertise in Restaurant Operations, providing expert coaching and root cause analysis to Franchisees.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert, offering support to restaurants as requested by Operators on specific operational initiatives (e.g., Delivery, Drive-Thru, Digital, etc.).
  • Utilizes system and initiative expertise to drive guest counts, sales, and cash flow by supporting operations, initiatives, and Owner/Operator priorities through Performance Excellence Sessions.
  • Collaborates with Franchise Business Partners to create a comprehensive restaurant consulting toolkit, monitor goals and key metrics, and drive business results.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented evaluator who relies on measurable facts and observations, with strong organizational skills for reports and evaluations.
  • Effective time management skills to manage a demanding evaluation and travel schedule.
  • Quick learner capable of developing a broad understanding of all restaurant systems and deep expertise in specific areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with Franchisees and restaurant managers.
  • Dynamic leader with excellent social, communication, and presentation skills, alongside solid influencing and facilitation abilities.
  • Coachable learner with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Recognizes patterns and develops insights into common restaurant performance challenges.
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma is required.
