Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) BUILDER Sustainment Management Systems (SMS) program. This role will involve the creation of comprehensive building assessments that detail the condition of electrical systems and their key components. These assessments will play a crucial role in planning and prioritizing maintenance activities and funding for a diverse range of healthcare facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of building electrical systems.
  • Utilize existing data to generate reports that provide insights into current building conditions.
  • Draft extensive scopes of work for the replacement of outdated equipment.
  • Design projects aimed at the rehabilitation of facilities, with varying sizes and complexities.

Essential Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Leverage your expertise in building electrical systems to formulate projects for facility repair and enhancement.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior field technicians.
  • Create Recapitalization Reports for significant medical facilities.
  • Ensure precise data collection that accurately reflects field conditions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Lead Engineering and Program Managers to oversee contractual obligations, deliverables, travel logistics, and field operations.
  • Work effectively within the organization to meet client needs and interests.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Achieve expertise in the BUILDER system.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel up to 25% is expected.


Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required.

Experience: 3 - 5 years of technical experience with building systems is preferred. Previous involvement in infrastructure and facility assessment projects for governmental entities is advantageous. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of low and medium-voltage distribution systems and familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70). Eligibility for a Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance is necessary. Experience in medical facilities and the construction or facilities management sectors is highly desirable. Proficiency in generating detailed reports with engineering recommendations is preferred. Familiarity with BUILDER SMS or similar software platforms is a plus.


Required Skills:
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with clients and company leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to produce thorough technical reports and presentations.

Work Environment:

The work location may vary, including local home office and site visits to medical facilities. Employees may be required to travel within the continental United States and internationally. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
