Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to oversee and manage electrical building systems within our projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all electrical installations meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the startup and commissioning processes for electrical building systems.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by reviewing product and equipment submissions, shop drawings, engineering designs, and contractor-generated RFIs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations for electrical installations, including Lock-Out procedures and arc flash safety measures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant building codes and industry standards such as IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, and FM.
  • Collaborate with construction contractors and equipment suppliers to facilitate factory testing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown activities with contractors and internal teams.
  • Conduct ongoing inspections to monitor work progress and compliance.
  • Support construction administration by coordinating schedules, confirming quality, and participating in weekly meetings.
  • Inspect electrical building systems to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Supervise electrical contractors to ensure project timelines and delivery methods are followed.
  • Prepare detailed reports on work progress and schedule updates for Project Managers.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance project technical specifications and standards.
  • Communicate technical information effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing commitments based on project deadlines and milestones.

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in construction management.
  • Experience in developing design criteria for electrical systems in industrial settings.
  • Background in automotive facilities or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical design.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and schedule management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with software such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
