This role involves providing critical program support for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) BUILDER Sustainment Management Systems (SMS) program.

The selected candidate will be responsible for generating comprehensive building reports that detail the condition of electrical systems and their key components. These reports will play a vital role in planning and prioritizing sustainment activities and funding for a diverse range of healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of building electrical systems.
  • Utilize existing data to create reports that inform planners about current building conditions.
  • Draft extensive scopes of work for the replacement of outdated equipment.
  • Design projects aimed at facility rehabilitation, with varying sizes and scopes.

Duties Include:

  • Leverage expertise in building electrical systems to formulate projects for repair and rehabilitation.
  • Provide mentorship and training for new or junior field technicians.
  • Prepare Recapitalization Reports for large medical facilities.
  • Ensure accurate data collection reflecting field-observed conditions.
  • Attend, prepare, and deliver briefings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Lead Engineering and Program Managers to oversee contractual obligations, deliverables, travel arrangements, and field operations.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Achieve subject matter expertise in BUILDER.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience with building systems is preferred.
  • Prior project experience in infrastructure and facility assessments for municipal, state, and federal entities is preferred.
  • Proficiency in understanding low and medium-voltage distribution systems and familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) is essential.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance is required.
  • Experience with medical facilities is advantageous.
  • Experience in construction and/or facilities management is highly preferred.
  • Ability to create detailed reports with engineering-based recommendations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BUILDER SMS or other SMS software platforms is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with clients and company leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Capability to produce detailed and comprehensive technical reports and presentations.

Work Environment:

Work locations may vary, including local home office and site visits to medical facilities, with potential off-site meetings.
