Overview

The Transportation Financial Analyst within the Customer Logistics team at Campbell Soup Company plays a crucial role in managing and analyzing over $600 million in expenditures across the Snacks and Meals & Beverages divisions. This position is essential for delivering precise and timely financial assessments regarding transportation expenses, while also offering insights into variance drivers compared to projections, annual operating plans (AOP), and previous fiscal years.

This role is pivotal in assisting the organization in comprehending key operational financial performance indicators, developing analytical frameworks for transportation initiatives, monitoring and evaluating transportation enablers, and spearheading process and reporting enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Engage in monthly transportation reviews with supply chain operations, sales, and planning teams to communicate results and identify cost drivers.
  • Create analyses to substantiate spending justifications while pinpointing margin drivers and their implications for brand teams and profit and loss (P&L) stakeholders.
  • Develop monthly financial forecasts and annual operating plans, including risk and opportunity management, in collaboration with those involved in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle.
  • Collaborate with brand, sales, and business intelligence reporting teams to enhance logistics and transportation reporting packages that connect operational metrics to financial outcomes.
  • Support the end-to-end process for transportation enablers across both divisions, including target development, savings initiatives, performance reviews, and reporting to leadership.

Planning and Analysis:

  • Assist in the monthly cost forecasting for transportation across both divisions, providing insights into variances against projections, AOP, and prior fiscal years.
  • Ensure accurate monthly financial rollups by reviewing relevant accounting journal entries.
  • Deliver analytical insights regarding monthly financial outcomes, linking Cost of Product Manufacturing (COPM) results to Cost of Goods Sold (COPS).
  • Support the overall logistics and transportation team with ad hoc reporting requirements and monthly evaluations.

Job Complexity

  • Engage in cross-functional business collaboration with sales, demand, supply, brand, and finance teams.
  • Provide strategic insights for the future state of the global supply chain structure and optimize operational and financial support.
  • Perform a variety of financial functions, including corporate finance, planning, budgeting, and detailed financial analysis.
  • Interpret complex data and present it in a meaningful format for management review.
  • Exhibit strong business acumen and share business knowledge with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively, as timelines for action may be tight and require significant cross-functional coordination.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, building and maintaining robust working relationships across various business functions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and exhibit intellectual curiosity.
  • Ensure adherence to financial processes according to corporate standards and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience, preferably in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or E-commerce.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including prior experience in financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $47,600 and $79,800. Individual base pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total compensation may include other forms of remuneration. Additionally, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits commencing on the first day of employment.
