Job Overview

Position Summary:
The role is centered on supporting the Accounting Department in financial analysis, closing activities, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent thought and contribute to the enhancement of accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable:
    Oversee and evaluate invoices and expense reports using a digital document management system to ensure proper documentation and approval.
  • Investigate and reconcile departmental/vendor invoices as necessary.

General Ledger and Reporting:
Assist in the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, perform bank reconciliations aligned with the closing calendar, and prepare monthly reconciliations and analyses of balance sheet accounts. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and entering journal entries.

Additional Responsibilities:
Support external audits, including various state tax, league, and year-end audits. Contribute to processes that guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting. Engage in ad-hoc analyses and projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional accounting experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, particularly strong Excel capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Sage (MAS) or comparable accounting software is advantageous.
  • Experience with Concur or similar document management platforms is a plus.
  • Must possess a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn within a team environment.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills are essential, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Maintain professionalism consistently and engage comfortably with all management levels.
