Job Summary

Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team in a medical center located in California. As a key member of the operating room team, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts thorough checks of anesthesia equipment during assigned shifts to ensure proper functioning.
  • Prepares, sets up, and calibrates anesthesia equipment in assigned operating rooms prior to scheduled surgeries, adapting equipment as needed for specific procedures.
  • Cleans, disinfects, stocks, and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies in accordance with infection control policies and regulations.
  • Maintains standardized anesthesia carts to ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for anesthesia providers.
  • Transports anesthesia equipment to and from work areas as required.
  • Removes special and reusable material after each surgery and disinfects it in accordance with infection control policies and regulations.
  • Regularly checks anesthesia equipment and monitors to ensure proper working condition.
  • Maintains anesthesia supplies and equipment according to needs and schedules, organizing and maintaining the anesthesia workroom, supplies, and equipment.
  • Responds to emergency anesthesia supply and equipment replacement requests during anesthesia administration.
  • Identifies malfunctioning equipment, performs basic troubleshooting, and reports defective equipment and malfunctions to technical repair personnel.
  • Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a regular schedule of proper maintenance and calibration of monitors used in anesthesia administration.
  • Monitors hospital-approved disinfectants for their effectiveness according to manufacturers' guidelines.
  • May be assigned responsibility for ordering supplies and keeping records of equipment inspections.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician in a healthcare setting, or completion of an approved Anesthesia Technology program from an accredited institution.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
