POSITION OVERVIEW

Are you a proactive individual with a knack for innovative problem-solving? The City of Rancho Cordova seeks a skilled and enthusiastic professional to contribute to the development and management of community-focused initiatives. This role requires a blend of creativity, independence, and a passion for public service.

As a Management Analyst, you will engage in vital community service programs, including youth development and public art initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, executing, and assessing various enrichment programs and events.

This position involves collaboration with program coordinators to organize educational, recreational, and social activities, as well as overseeing public art projects. Key tasks will include:

  • Drafting and disseminating manuals, reports, and policies for diverse audiences.
  • Negotiating contracts with artists and managing the installation of commissioned artworks.
  • Facilitating community engagement and the selection process for artists.

In this role, you will lead collaborative efforts with community partners, support affiliated organizations, and act as a liaison on youth sports and public art topics. Grant writing and contract management will also be significant components of your duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Conduct comprehensive analyses and prepare detailed reports, including productivity assessments, performance evaluations, and fiscal reviews.

Oversee the development of departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and forecasting financial needs.

Manage special projects by defining objectives, methodologies, and resource requirements; prepare and present complex reports and recommendations.

Conduct fiscal analysis and provide support for grant and contract management, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Represent the department in discussions with city officials and the public, providing clarity on financial and operational plans.

Facilitate communication among stakeholders, resolving conflicts and building consensus on policy matters.

Participate in community engagement initiatives to inform the public about policies and programs.

Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and tact in all interactions.

Contribute to team objectives by completing related tasks as needed.

May involve planning and executing large community events and providing public information through various media.

Management Analyst II will include additional responsibilities such as preparing staff reports for city meetings and coordinating staff training.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Understanding of public administration principles, financial analysis, and grant management.
Proficiency in analytical and project management software.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain strong working relationships.
Experience in municipal finance and budgeting is preferred.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's Degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field is required. Relevant experience in municipal government or community program administration is essential.

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required.

Physical requirements include the ability to work in an office environment and attend off-site meetings.
