Job Overview

Child Action, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Legislative Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Government Affairs department, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's legislative strategy and advocating for the interests of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on legislative issues, analyzing data and statistics to inform policy recommendations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, and stakeholders to advance our organization's goals
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and briefs summarizing key findings and recommendations for policymakers and internal teams
  • Monitor legislative developments, hearings, and work groups at local, state, and federal levels
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments to support integrated approaches to addressing legislative challenges and opportunities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in legislative analysis, policy research, or government affairs
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislative language and policy documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill and convey complex information clearly and effectively
  • Proficiency in conducting research using a variety of sources, including legislative databases, government reports, academic journals, and statistical data
