We are currently seeking an Associate Buyer to collaborate closely with the Senior Buyer, assisting in various procurement tasks and functions in alignment with our corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and issue purchase orders.
  • Monitor and expedite existing purchase orders.
  • Engage with suppliers to negotiate pricing agreements for high-volume components.
  • Collect and evaluate quotes from diverse sources for necessary procurements.
  • Assess cost estimates against requisitions for accuracy.
  • Gather, analyze, and verify bid information to inform supplier selection.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for government and ISO audits.
  • Maintain organized purchasing records and logs.
  • Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal requestors.
  • Assist in reconciling invoice discrepancies with the Accounting department.
  • Adhere to all Purchasing protocols, including AS/ISO and government regulations.
  • Identify general procurement needs and incorporate relevant quality standards in RFQs and Purchase Orders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Oversee material requirements planning and procurement strategies.
  • Optimize inventory levels to enhance customer service while minimizing stock shortages.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Provide backup support for the Senior Buyer as needed.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in Purchasing or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing context.
  • Certifications in Purchasing (ISM, APICS, or similar) are advantageous.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred.
Skills and Experience:
  • Background in manufacturing or relevant internship experience.
  • Preferred experience in military or government procurement.
  • Familiarity with purchasing policies, methods, and procedures.
  • Understanding of electronics, raw materials, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills characterized by tact and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Technologically adept and computer literate.
