Key Responsibilities- Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, heat sealing duties, and record-keeping duties associated with whole-blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, and research projects.
- Strictly adhere to all standard operating procedures to ensure all blood products are collected within the quality standards set forth by regulatory agencies, including the FDA.
- Assist the supervisor in verifying and completing daily paperwork.
- Alert the supervisor of any problems or concerns related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues, or equipment performance.
- Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions.
- Educate donors on blood fact information, such as donation frequency and the need for blood products.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- High school degree or GED required; college classes a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
- Reliable transportation and a working telephone required.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
- Fluency in Spanish a plus.
- Competitive hourly rate: $14.50-$20.00 per hour based on experience.
- Additional pay for technical school certification, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, etc.
- Additional pay if fluent in Spanish.
- Paid on-the-job training.
- Health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, 401(k), paid-time-off, $5,000 annual tuition reimbursement, and annual uniform allowance.
