Key Responsibilities
  • Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, heat sealing duties, and record-keeping duties associated with whole-blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, and research projects.
  • Strictly adhere to all standard operating procedures to ensure all blood products are collected within the quality standards set forth by regulatory agencies, including the FDA.
  • Assist the supervisor in verifying and completing daily paperwork.
  • Alert the supervisor of any problems or concerns related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues, or equipment performance.
  • Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions.
  • Educate donors on blood fact information, such as donation frequency and the need for blood products.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school degree or GED required; college classes a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation and a working telephone required.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate: $14.50-$20.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Additional pay for technical school certification, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, etc.
  • Additional pay if fluent in Spanish.
  • Paid on-the-job training.
