Phlebotomy Specialist

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collect blood specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
* Administer oral solutions to patients as needed.
* Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
* Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required.
* Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
Requirements:
* Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
* Keyboard/data entry experience.
* Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
* Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
* Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
