Forensic Assessment Coordinator

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Assessment Coordinator to join our team in Manhattan, New York. As a key member of our Jail Population Review Program, you will play a critical role in identifying incarcerated individuals with behavioral health issues who may be eligible for pre-trial release and alternative to incarceration programming.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive clinical/psychological evaluations to identify clinical needs, clarify diagnoses, and create treatment/management plans that improve clinical outcomes and mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with legal stakeholders, including judges, defense attorneys, prosecutors, and court staff, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Review screening information and medical records from Correctional Health Services to identify individuals eligible for pre-trial diversion.
- Conduct psychological testing as needed to inform clinical decisions.
- Participate in regular team meetings and clinical supervision to ensure high-quality care and effective program implementation.
- Post-doctoral psychologist with a New York State Psychology limited permit to practice as a psychologist under supervision.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health issues, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and/or homelessness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, holistic, and strengths-based approaches.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of autonomy.
The Center for Justice Innovation offers a competitive salary range of $78,500 to $95,500, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes comprehensive healthcare, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts. We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We also offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%.
