Position Summary

The Forensic Project Coordinator will support project leaders in a diverse range of forensic examination and condition assessment initiatives. This role involves conducting site evaluations, employing advanced technology and investigative methodologies, and ensuring compliance with regulations to collect data and identify issues. Ideal candidates will possess a background in architecture or engineering, effectively manage their workload, prioritize tasks, have a foundational understanding of standard construction materials, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and show a keen interest in building construction.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Background in MEP, Structural, or Architectural fields is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles and practices across various assignments.
  • Analyze and interpret construction plans, documents, timelines for both new and existing structures, and applicable standards.
  • Conduct structural evaluations, compliance assessments, and building envelope inspections for commercial and residential properties.
  • Carry out forensic investigations to determine the causes and origins of incidents related to property damage claims and/or construction design defects.
  • Perform evaluations and cost analyses for remediation scopes and design documents for existing structures.
  • Investigate all parties involved in the design and construction processes to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Comprehend various construction documents (e.g., contracts, ASIs, RFIs, payment requests, punch lists, substantial completion forms, schedules, permits, etc.).
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, to diverse audiences.
  • Prepare detailed, coherent, and defensible reports.
  • Provide testimony during depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials.
  • Execute additional job-related tasks as required.
  • Foster positive client relationships while managing budgets, schedules, project communications, documentation, and administrative tasks, both independently and under project manager supervision.
  • Stay informed about building codes relevant to New York City, including awareness of historic building regulations.
  • Actively engage in a collaborative team environment.
  • Effectively manage time to fulfill work responsibilities in a dynamic setting.
  • Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Anticipate spending 25% to 75% of work time in the field weekly.
