Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our Energy Projects team at Tesla. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating detailed estimates and firm bids for utility scale Battery Energy Storage System EPC projects. Your expertise will be essential in driving the success of our projects and helping us shape the future of energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create estimates and firm bids for utility scale Battery Energy Storage System EPC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, permitting, engineering, and project management costs.
  • Develop and maintain cost estimating tools and databases, incorporating historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, and other relevant sources.
  • Compile and compare estimates, bids, and running budgets across multiple projects, generating recurring reports for executive review.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, operations, procurement, and sub-contractor teams to drive value-engineering and optimize project costs.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure consistent communication and project success.
  • Prepare takeoffs, solicit competitive sub-contractor proposals, and review contract change order and field change order proposals.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience, including 2 years of utility estimating experience.
  • Excellent skills in Excel, proficient user of other MS office applications, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Google Earth Pro.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, detail-oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
