About the Job

The Rental Coordinator position at Thompson Machinery is a key role in the Cat Rental Store. As a Rental Coordinator, you will provide administrative support to the Cat Rental Store team, coordinating and processing rental sales. This includes working closely with Rental Sales Representatives on rental transactions and orders, customer contacts, pricing, inventory availability, transportation/shipping coordination, and service requests. You will also rent equipment/attachments and sell accessories at the rental counter or by phone.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Reconciling electronic charge transactions
  • Answering telephone calls and directing them to the correct individuals or departments
  • Assisting customers with their inquiries
  • Developing sales proposals and presentations from customer inquiries
  • Maintaining adequate product knowledge of equipment and Allied products
  • Researching equipment, parts, or Allied products to meet specialized customer requirements
  • Responding to customer inquiries regarding equipment and Allied products
  • Scheduling, dispatching, and routing vehicles for the transport of equipment and Allied products
  • Supporting sales staff with demonstrations and sales agreements
  • Coordinating with shop staff regarding repair status and availability of equipment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Hold a college degree in business, sales, or construction (preferred)
  • Be dependable and consistently arrive at work on time
  • Understand and remember all written and verbal instructions
  • Deal with adversity in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, adaptability, and a strong customer service focus
  • Be proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications, Lotus Notes, Web-browsers, and proprietary software

Work Environment

This role requires you to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional pressure or within work standards and deadlines. You will need to be able to work well under these conditions and maintain a clean, safe working environment. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and be honest, reliable, and dependable.
