Job Overview:

Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Safety Management will be pivotal in fostering a culture of safety across the organization. This role will oversee compliance with safety regulations, including DOT and OSHA, and will be responsible for the development and implementation of safety policies and programs. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive safety management program, including policies, procedures, and budget considerations.
  • Lead the execution of safety initiatives and programs across all departments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective safety program design and implementation.
  • Establish safety policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage investigations of incidents involving company vehicles and personnel.
  • Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of safety programs.
  • Prepare and submit required accident reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate the development of accident prevention strategies integrated into operational policies.
  • Identify potential hazards and assess risks to minimize accidents and financial losses.
  • Analyze statistical data related to workplace safety and prepare informative reports.
  • Coordinate with operations to optimize the use of resources while ensuring safety compliance.
  • Conduct inspections to identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management and safety programs.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and FMCSR regulations.
  • Experience in safety program development, execution, and reporting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to lead proactive safety awareness initiatives.
  • Strong presentation skills for conveying statistical data at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in training and evaluating personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced Degree in a related field.
