Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our team at Kimco Staffing Services. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to fabricate and repair parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and receive daily job assignments and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Set up and operate machines such as conventional lathes, mills, presses, and other manual machine equipment to fabricate and repair parts.
  • Operate grinders and Blanchard grinder to achieve precise tolerances.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to check tolerances and ensure finished products meet specifications.
  • Replace dull cutting tools and verify conformance of work pieces to specifications.
  • Operate cranes, lifts, and mobile equipment as required.
Requirements
  • Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to operate conventional lathe/mills, drill press, surface grinders, including Blanchard grinder.
  • Able to utilize overhead cranes, jacks, wedges, cables, rope, and chain blocks for lifting heavy parts.
  • Must possess knowledge of safe rigging and lifting practices.
  • Able to make left-hand and right-hand threads.
  • Must have understanding of machines to perform and necessary periodic maintenance and equipment repairs when necessary.
  • Able to be forklift certified.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.
Physical Demands
  • Will need to lift 10-75 pounds, occasionally to the height of 4 feet and/or carrying 10 feet.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions.
  • Will be standing/walking throughout shift.
Safety Protocols
  • Must wear uniform and steel-toed shoes at all times.
  • Wear back brace, dust mask, safety glasses, and gloves when necessary.
  • Know and follow all safety procedures for each machine or tool used.
  • Attend all safety training meetings.
  • Must address safety issues at work station immediately to supervisor.
  • Must report accidents and injuries within 24 hours to management.
  • Must follow all safety requirements and training at all times.
