Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dynamic and innovative marketing and communications professional to enhance the visibility and engagement of its programs and initiatives. This role is essential in promoting the Commonwealth's objectives through a comprehensive strategy that integrates both digital and traditional media channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively marketing various programs to prospective participants, advocating for individuals to potential employers, and highlighting key research and initiatives to a broad audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement both short-term and long-term marketing strategies to elevate the Commonwealth's initiatives.
- Design and produce both print and digital materials to increase awareness and understanding of the programs.
- Manage and update website content and social media platforms to ensure relevant and timely information is available.
- Assist in executing strategic content marketing initiatives aimed at participant recruitment.
- Oversee advisory boards and career development events.
- Collaborate with marketing teams and communication departments to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Supervise social media engagement and content dissemination.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in leading marketing and communication initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including familiarity with AP style.
- Experience with design software and office productivity applications.
- Demonstrated ability in content creation and marketing strategy development.
- Understanding of digital content management and strategy.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
