The Air Operations Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of flights in accordance with federal aviation regulations and company flight manuals. This role requires a strong understanding of weather theory, charts, and reports, as well as knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, with an emphasis on Parts 91, 91K, and 135.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preplans daily flight operations and informs appropriate personnel concerning changes in flight status.
  • Validates suitability of crew and aircraft for each scheduled departure.
  • Coordinates the optimum utilization of aircraft and crews during irregular operations.
  • Provides the highest level of safety and service for all Flight Crews, owners, and employees by creating accurate, compliant flight-plans to include routing, weight & balance, and aircraft performance.
  • Assesses departure/arrival weather to determine trip feasibility.
  • Communicates with Owner Services and alters aircraft destinations as necessary.
  • Files flight-plans with the Air Traffic Control System.
  • Utilizes all available tools to ensure safety and regulatory compliance are met or exceeded.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of weather theory, charts, and reports in the METAR format, including TAFs and NOTAMs.
  • Must have knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, with an emphasis on Parts 91, 91K, and 135.
  • Internship or prior work experience with an airline, FBO, flight department, or airport is beneficial.
