Job Description

A Field Service Technician is a critical member of the Customer Support Department responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) lathe, milling, and multi-functional machining centers.

  • Daily travel to customer facilities with occasional overnight hotel stays required when servicing remote locations or participating in training programs.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to help others and be a team player.
  • Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, diagnose, and repair CNC equipment and accessory CNC equipment at customer facilities.
  • Provide excellent communication between customers and the Service Group of The Robert E. Morris Company.

  • Adaptability to changes and ability to handle delays or work-related issues.
  • Basic digital literacy and understanding of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Electro-mechanical skills, with the ability to develop them further.
  • Broad shop background or knowledge of machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Basic mechanical and logical problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience

We welcome candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Experience in a manufacturing facility as a co-op, internship, or full/part-time job.
  • Industrial equipment repair experience.
  • Relevant knowledge of specialized fields like machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • A two-year technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Automation, and/or one year of experience in a related field.
