Job Summary

The Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach is a key member of our athletics department, responsible for coaching, directing, and executing aspects of our NCAA Division II lacrosse program. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced coach to join our team and contribute to the success of our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and direct lacrosse teams, including game and practice coaching assignments, and out-of-season conditioning programs.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes, develop and coordinate recruiting networks, and assess talent for scholarship assistance.
  • Model good sportsmanship behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards student-athletes, fans, parents, officials, spectators, and community.
  • Foster a healthy environment for student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
  • Assist in the preparation of and adhere to deadlines for forms and related materials.
  • Collaborate with Strength & Conditioning Coach/Athletic Training Staff to ensure the physical health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Provide on-site supervision during all team activities.
  • Assist with and execute fundraising initiatives and events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least two years' collegiate level coaching and recruiting experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA sport rules and regulations, game day management, and best practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the campus community.
  • Proficient with computer software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Sound independent judgment and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse population.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, analytical, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of organizational processes and strong follow-up skills.
  • Good time management and project management skills.
Working Environment

This position operates in an office environment with frequent interruptions. The area is well-lit, temperature-controlled, and free from hazards. Noise level is generally quiet to moderate. Work is primarily performed on the field, classroom, or office setting. Office area is well-lit, temperature-controlled, and free from hazards. Travel and work at various hours of the day or night, including early morning, overnight, and weekend work is required.

Physical Requirements

Communicates frequently, in person, over the phone, or via a computer. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in-person communication. Regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity is needed to operate a computer keyboard. Operates standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Certification/Licensure

CPR, 1st Aid & AED required.
