Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Electrophysiology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including de-clotting of blood vessels, UFE, and venous ablations. You will work closely with Interventional Radiologists, vascular surgeons, neuro radiologists, and other specialists to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients in proper positions to radiographically demonstrate correct anatomy
  • Obtain radiographic DSA and DA images for interventional procedures and transmit all images to PACS for interpretation by the radiologist
  • Participate in and assist in complex interventional endovascular neurological procedures, such as aneurysm coiling, stent placement, and other stroke intervention procedures
  • Set up patients on appropriate cardiac and other monitoring systems and interpret normal ranges on monitoring equipment
  • Prepare patients in a sterile fashion for procedures and maintain radiographic equipment and preparation of examination rooms and supplies
  • Assist the radiologist as needed during the performance of angiograms and special procedures, including the insertion of arterial needles and catheters
  • Explain examinations to patients and families and round on patients and families to ensure they are kept informed of procedure progress
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing minor daily housekeeping tasks and contributing to the overall cleanliness of the work area
  • Use Universal Precautions in daily performance of procedures and protect self against bodily fluid contact
  • Participate in team problem-solving issues that would improve patient care, department operations, image quality, interdepartmental relationships, and employee satisfaction
Requirements
  • Must have attended an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology and be ARRT registered
  • Ability to perform most interventional radiology procedures usually performed in special labs with close supervision of the radiologist
  • Ability to use various types of radiographic equipment to obtain images of optimal quality
  • Ability to demonstrate good teamwork and cooperation with external/internal customers and good communication skills
