Interventional Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As an Electrophysiology Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and technical expertise in the field of interventional radiology.
Key Responsibilities- Position patients for radiographic examination, ensuring accurate anatomy and blood vessel profiles.
- Select technical factors to optimize image quality and minimize patient radiation exposure.
- Participate in complex interventional procedures, including de-clotting, UFE, and venous ablations, requiring advanced knowledge of vascular anatomy.
- Collaborate with interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and other specialists to perform procedures.
- Obtain and transmit radiographic images to PACS for interpretation.
- Assist in the performance of complex interventional endovascular neurological procedures, such as aneurysm coiling and stent placement.
- Set up and monitor patient on cardiac and other monitoring systems, interpreting normal ranges.
- Prepare patients for procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and equipment.
- Contribute to a clean and safe work environment, performing minor housekeeping tasks.
- Use Universal Precautions and protect self against bodily fluid contact.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting positive customer relations.
- Participate in team problem-solving and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Must have attended an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology and be ARRT registered.
- Ability to perform most interventional radiology procedures with close supervision.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, with ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to adjust to flexible work hours, long hours, and overtime.
- Ability to participate in on-call program and respond to emergency calls within 45 minutes.
Exposed to radiation, ability to deal with extremely ill patients, and ability to communicate with patients.
Ability to stand for long periods while wearing a lead apron, weighing approximately 20 pounds.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, using patient handling equipment when necessary.
