Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating advanced radiology equipment, positioning patients, and securing support devices to perform procedures. You will also be responsible for determining appropriate radiographic techniques, securing patient histories, and maintaining compliance with established safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate advanced radiology equipment, including CT scanners, MRI machines, and fluoroscopy units.
  • Position patients and secure support devices to ensure safe and effective procedures.
  • Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on patient anatomy and condition.
  • Secure patient histories and record information on appropriate forms.
  • Maintain compliance with established safety standards, including universal precautions and patient shielding.
  • Administer CPR as necessary and maintain accurate examination records.
  • Perform quality control activities, including film quality checks and labeling.
  • Coordinate patient flow and communicate with radiologists and other personnel to ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare radiology rooms and equipment for procedures.
  • Label radiology images according to department standards and criteria.
  • Prepare contrast media as necessary and perform daily sensitometry of processors.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
  • IDNS license.
  • 1-3 years experience as a general radiographer.
  • Certified in radiology and registered by ARRT.
  • CPR certification.
  • Licensed by IDNS.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision. The Radiologic Technologist must be able to lift and move patients, and work under stressful conditions. The position may also require exposure to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.

Physical Requirements:

The Radiologic Technologist must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
