Position Overview:

Lead and support initiatives to ensure a safe working environment, provide direct assistance for production and maintenance, and collect and report environmental data.

Key Relationships:

Senior Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety programs
  • Assist Production and Maintenance teams with safety management
  • Offer safety expertise and solutions to management and projects to address known or potential issues
  • Deliver safety training and resources to enhance safety performance
  • Communicate safety performance metrics regularly
  • Analyze all recordable incidents and guide root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions
  • Support the ISO14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
  • Promote safety awareness through various communication channels
  • Manage initiatives aimed at waste reduction and control processes
  • Maintain records for Health & Safety qualifications, programs, and compliance
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations in executing duties
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Regularly operate and inspect manufacturing equipment. Must be able to stand for extended periods and may require corrected vision. Occasional climbing of ladders and working at heights may be necessary. Exposure to hazardous materials may occur, and appropriate safety gear may be required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a safety-related role is required
  • Experience in construction and expansion projects is preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations is essential
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis for accident investigation is preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 and 14001 standards is advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience in emergency management and planning is a plus
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
  • Strong communication and writing skills are required
  • Organizational and planning skills to develop and manage action plans are necessary
  • Availability to work Monday through Thursday on a 10-hour day shift
