Department Overview

Our Cancer and Blood Disorders department is a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children with cancer, blood disorders, and other complex conditions. We are proud to be a leader in research and quality of life initiatives for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.

Job Summary

The Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) plays a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing exceptional customer service, efficient registration and check-in processes, and administrative support to our clinical teams. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff
  • Register and check-in patients efficiently and accurately
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information
  • Support patient care and administrative tasks in the clinics
  • Serve as a technology resource for the clinical team
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of customer service experience required
  • One year of medical office setting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical insurance preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and hospital technology systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact in a respectful and professional manner
