Department OverviewOur Cancer and Blood Disorders department is a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children with cancer, blood disorders, and other complex conditions. We are proud to be a leader in research and quality of life initiatives for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.
Job SummaryThe Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) plays a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing exceptional customer service, efficient registration and check-in processes, and administrative support to our clinical teams. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff
- Register and check-in patients efficiently and accurately
- Obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information
- Support patient care and administrative tasks in the clinics
- Serve as a technology resource for the clinical team
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of customer service experience required
- One year of medical office setting experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical insurance preferred
- Post-secondary education
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and hospital technology systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact in a respectful and professional manner
