About the Role

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in connecting uninsured hospital patients with programs that cover their medical expenses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance programs.
  • Complete and submit applications, following through until approval, to ensure timely access to necessary benefits.
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients and hospital staff.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Manage a structured and timely contact process with patients and government agencies, utilizing phone and email communication as needed.
  • Assist patients in gathering necessary documentation, meeting appointment dates and times, and arranging transportation when required.
  • Inform patients in a timely manner of all approvals and denials of coverage, adhering to established protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on changing rules and regulations associated with government programs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, with prior hospital experience and adaptability in dealing with changing processes and systems.
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs, with a strong understanding of their requirements and regulations.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
