The MEP Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that our projects uphold the highest standards of safety, functionality, maintainability, efficiency, and operational readiness concerning MEP disciplines, aligning with project specifications, scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates estimating and preconstruction efforts to guarantee consistency, quality, and thoroughness.
  • Participates in subcontractor and owner/architect meetings to stay informed on project developments, understand the MEP agenda, and monitor changes and their potential effects.
  • Ensures that drawings and specifications accurately represent the desired construction quality and scope. Aids the Project Manager in reviewing and implementing MEP scopes of work.
  • Leads the coordination of MEP and BIM when necessary.
  • Maintains active communication with the Superintendent and Project Manager to identify and resolve MEP-related challenges.
  • Assists in developing and managing the scheduling of MEP tasks from the master schedule.
  • Supports the creation and management of ICRA plans for hospital projects as required.
  • Helps develop punch lists and observation reports detailing discrepancies from the Contract Documents and project schedule.
  • Oversees the safety, quality, and compliance of all MEP scopes on the construction project.
  • Reviews MEP subcontractor change order pricing and invoices for accuracy.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of all shut-downs with the owner and MEP subcontractors as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in MEP construction with a solid understanding of MEP construction methods and practices.
  • Proven expertise in construction, particularly in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing practices.
  • Experience working around energized electrical systems, managing hazardous energies, and adhering to proper PPE protocols, including lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop critical-path schedules and manage trade performance and productivity.
  • Capable of functioning effectively in a team setting. Maintains composure and effectively navigates conflicts.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in professional and effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • In-depth knowledge of critical facility operational requirements.
  • Strong grasp of the commissioning process and its requirements.
  • Outstanding capability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Skilled in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • A valid NY State driver's license is required for travel to project sites throughout the Northeast.
