About This Organization Society for College and University Planning

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Facilities Engineering to enhance our team of skilled professionals.

The Senior Manager of Facilities Engineering will deliver in-house engineering expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Energy Management to support our institution.


Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Engineering department to synchronize engineering initiatives across the campus, mentor junior staff, and establish processes and standards.

• Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to leadership and the Design and Construction Department. Responsible for signing and stamping engineering drawings as necessary.

• Facilitate engineering support for new construction and renovation projects, develop design standards, conduct design reviews, and perform construction phase evaluations and site inspections.

• Collaborate with external architectural and engineering consultants to ensure effective design integration.

• Develop engineering support to establish design preferences, preferred equipment models, update design standards, document standard operating procedures (SOPs), standardize control sequences, enhance documentation of existing systems, and drive process improvements.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, including design, design management, and/or project management of MEP systems.

• A valid Professional Engineer's license in New York State (or eligibility to obtain one) is required at the time of appointment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and computer skills are essential.
