Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to enhance our Water division. We are looking for a professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field. Responsibilities

Oversee projects for the maintenance, upgrade, or replacement of hydroelectric turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems. Lead or support the design initiatives for the upgrade or replacement of hydroelectric auxiliary mechanical systems. Direct or assist in the design efforts for gate operating mechanisms in aquatic environments (locks, dams, water control gates, moorings, etc.). Manage the creation of bid documents (plans, specifications, and cost estimates). Contribute to the design efforts for proposals. Mentor junior engineers. Review, edit, and compose technical reports. Review, edit, and compose technical specifications. Establish design criteria for projects. Supervise teams of drafters in the preparation of design drawings. Conduct QA/QC by verifying design methodologies, calculations, and outcomes. Perform vendor shop inspections and audits. Lead field inspections and surveys to support repair, design, and construction activities. Develop alternative design solutions. Assist project managers and leaders in creating proposals, client information, and designs as required. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. Professional engineer licensure is preferred (or a desire to obtain licensure). At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on rotating equipment and auxiliary mechanical systems preferred. Familiarity with rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, generators). Expertise in designing auxiliary mechanical systems (cooling water, lube oil, compressed air, HVAC). Knowledge of large gates, cranes, and valves is advantageous. Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in the design of mechanical systems and equipment. A passion for working on a variety of project types. A commitment to collaborating in a team environment to learn from and educate others. A willingness to engage in hands-on work, including field and manufacturing shop inspections. Proficiency in CAD is a plus. Strong skills in Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Attention to detail is essential. Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers projects or familiarity with Corps' design guidelines is a plus. Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for job-related communications and instructions.

Compensation: $67,000-$89,000 DOQ.
