Job Title: Operational Data Support Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Data Support Systems Engineer to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a key member of our Cyber and Electronic Warfare group, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers' Senior Operations Data Office (SODO) and executing Data Governance, Data Extension & Reduction Process (DERP) Requests, Data Characterization and Tagging Support, Data Management Requests (DMRs), Historical Data Migration (HDM), and Corporate Warehouse governance and support activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Data Governance support: Assist in the coordination, development, and documentation of Data governance processes and procedures.
  • DERP, Data Characterization and Tagging Support, and DMRs: Assist with the Review, Coordination, Validation, and Tracking of new data tags, DERP requests, and DMR status.
  • HDM activities support: Assist with overseeing mission requirements for Transition and Decommissioning Systems and datasets.
  • Corporate Warehouse governance and support: Coordinate and track operational efficiencies, create and maintain schedules of needed actions and recommended courses of action.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen due to the sensitivity of the work.
  • Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI/Polygraph for consideration.
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other related discipline plus at least 5 years of systems engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in integrations with corporate repositories.
  • Understanding of operational data, data ingest, and dataflow processes to validate and track processing and governance.
  • Understanding of front-end processing, analytic, and storage infrastructure, and data queries.
  • Familiarity with various HDM capabilities and methodologies.
