About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team at Shalom House Inc. in Southern Maine. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct support and assistance to individuals living with mental health diagnoses within our residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support and assistance to residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes independence, self-esteem, and community integration.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Engage residents in therapeutic activities, recreational outings, and social events to promote socialization and personal growth.
  • Monitor and document resident progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
  • One year of previous experience working with individuals living with mental health diagnoses preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
