Position Overview:

The Project Leader will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of construction initiatives, from the initial budget development to the final project completion. This position requires a strategic leader capable of ensuring the effective execution and financial success of projects. The Project Leader will work closely with management and field teams to set operational priorities and uphold the highest standards of project quality. The ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding skills in building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring superior project execution and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Create and refine detailed project budgets through careful estimation and value engineering.
  • Client Relations: Improve client satisfaction by proactively addressing and exceeding their expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents to enhance team performance and unity.
  • Project Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Job Oversight: Supervise ongoing projects, coordinating subcontractors, resolving conflicts, and maintaining thorough documentation while adhering to quality and safety standards.
  • Cost Control: Continuously monitor and assess project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, to predict financial outcomes and manage budget constraints.
  • Project Closeout: Conduct thorough and efficient project closeout processes to ensure complete project completion.
  • Leadership: Cultivate a positive work environment by inspiring team members, providing clear guidance, and encouraging collaborative teamwork.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholder groups, utilizing both written and verbal methods.
  • Business Development: Engage with current and potential clients to identify and pursue new business opportunities, participate in client presentations, and negotiate contracts.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee the subcontractor bidding process, negotiate and award subcontracts, and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, or 5+ years in a construction management role.
  • Expertise: Proven proficiency in estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field supervision, safety management, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards, along with knowledge in design and finance.
  • Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, and advanced proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Building Connected, Primavera, AutoCAD).
