Responsibilities

Are you prepared to redefine the ordinary and deliver exceptional care?

Under general supervision, you will provide high-quality support to physicians in addressing the medical needs of patients.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Accompany patients to and from examination rooms, preparing them for physician assessments; take vital signs, document medical histories and symptoms, and ensure medical charts and lab results are complete.
  • Conduct telephone triage, provide patient education, and manage communications with physicians and pharmacies; assist in scheduling appointments or arranging hospital tests and admissions.
  • Administer immunizations and minor treatments as directed; accurately document all activities in patient charts.
  • Assist physicians with procedures as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient examination rooms; prepare instruments for procedures and keep track of necessary medical supplies.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as ordering lab tests, x-rays, and preparing school/work notes.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and sterilized; check and restock medication cabinets as needed.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns, acting as a liaison between the physician and the patient.
  • Report test results to patients as instructed by the physician.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and assist in narcotic inventory counts.
  • Perform additional projects and duties related to departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, accepting constructive feedback and adhering to workplace guidelines.
  • Utilize current nursing practices to deliver patient care while prioritizing patient needs and exemplifying service excellence, compassion, respect, and teamwork. As a member of the healthcare team, act as a patient advocate by being the initial contact for patient-related issues.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid RN licensure in Illinois.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Preferred minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital environment, though new graduates may be considered under specific circumstances.


At least 3-5 years of experience in High-Risk OB, level 3 labor and delivery, or Maternal Fetal Medicine is preferred.
