Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting & Finance Assistant, Associate, or Senior Associate to join our team at J Street. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the efficient management of our financial transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Prepare and process invoices, bills, and bank deposits in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Reconcile bank and investment statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Provide support with audits and required IRS filings.
  • Perform ad hoc financial tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements
  • 0-1 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or certification in finance or accounting.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Eventbrite.
Benefits
  • Full-time exempt position with occasional work outside traditional hours.
  • Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000.
