ROLE OVERVIEW

The Finance Manager will be an integral part of the finance team at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), concentrating on management reporting, strategic planning, and providing commercial support for public sector clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management Reporting: Direct the management reporting for the public sector leadership, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee the FP&A function within BCG's Federal and Public Sector, emphasizing analytics and insightful reporting.
  • Collaboration: Partner with various business units, including commercial finance, system finance, and regional/global finance teams.
  • Contractual Support: Work closely with the Contracts team to meet all contractual reporting obligations.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Address additional requests and perform various duties as necessary.
  • Client Contracting: Provide transparency into client contracting processes and maintain relevant databases.
  • Financial Projections: Ensure accurate projections of case financials and deliver all necessary outputs for effective case management.

CLIENT SERVICE AND SUPPORT:

  • Assist with government contracting and financial analysis.
  • Support government clients with a focus on compliance with finance and accounting regulations.
  • Manage government invoicing databases as required.
  • Ensure proper contract structures are communicated to stakeholders.
  • Oversee case budgets and manage days sales outstanding.
  • Provide budget analysis and forecasts as needed.
  • Manage accounts receivable and collections for specific clients.
  • Support client development managers with reporting and ad hoc requests.
  • Lead performance management and reporting for the public sector in North America.
  • Focus on risk mitigation in client contracting repositories.

REPORTING AND ANALYSIS:

  • Generate financial reports and analyses to support US Federal client objectives.
  • Assist in developing or updating financial policies to align with contractual and public sector requirements.

LOCAL ACCOUNTING:

  • Contribute to BCG's Federal and public sector statutory reporting.
  • Support case code accounting from both financial and systemic perspectives.
  • Collaborate with the US General Ledger team to implement necessary corrections.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Eligibility: Must be a US citizen and eligible for US Government Security Clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 6-9 years of finance-related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel modeling, analytics, and PowerPoint.
  • Industry Experience: Familiarity with Public Sector (Federal, State, Local) or Defense Contracting is advantageous.
  • Tools: Experience with Oracle Business Objects, Hyperion Financial Management, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus.
